A note from Carol

As a mom and having my daughter study internationally, I understand what keeps parents of pre-teens and teenagers up at night while their child is abroad. Therefore, when designing my program I kept three safety concerns in mind: supervision, host families and international travel.

We chose this trip because of the excellent chaperones, the host families they carefully select, and all the extra activities offered.

supervision

TRUE IMMERSION, as the name suggests, offers a completely immersive experience.  For safety reasons, we ensure all of our trips are heavily chaperoned.  Itineraries are filled with engaging classes and activities, each of which is overseen by either a TRUE IMMERSION chaperone, host family, or teacher.  To further ensure the safety of each student, each Homestay Group is given a TRUE IMMERSION local cellphone with 24-7 access to Carol should they need her.

Host Families

TRUE IMMERSION host families are all personally known by Carol, the founder.  Additionally they have all had extensive background checks and screening in line with TRUE IMMERSION's high standards and insurance requirements.  Each family is screened not only for safety, but to ensure they provide warm, caring and engaging environments for our students to thrive in. Our host families all truly love hosting our students and sharing their rich culture with them.

International Travel

At TRUE IMMERSION, all overseas travel is conducted as a group with at least one True Immersion chaperone overseeing all travelers on international flights.  We utilize a variety of safety measures, including the buddy system, at all times within the airports.  We also prefer that students have personal cell phones with them during our long layovers in US airports to allow us to stay in constant communication if they wish to go to an airport restaurant or shop.  Students can be given permission to fly separately from the group when there are special circumstances, but we prefer to avoid that as much as possible to maintain the safest possible international travel experience.
